Eight Crazy Nights || 2003-12-25 at 12:19 a.m.

I read this article about some people trying to make Hannukah compete with Christmas. I found it very interesting.

On the one hand, Hannukah isn't a high holiday nor does it really dictate the giving of presents. Now, however, it has become very hyped, and presents are now being given. Part of me sees the reason for this because of the little Jewish children out there. Kids can be really cruel, and can you imagine what some youngsters will say when they find out Santa doesn't visit your house?

Okay, so Santa isn't part of Hannukah even with the presents... But imagine one of those snooty brats commenting about your lack of Christmas-age, and then you retorting with, "We get presents for eight nights."

Damn. That'd be sweet.
